Description
This course will go over the process of mounting devices onto wheelchairs. The course will discuss what information is needed to properly mount equipment to different wheelchairs. The course will also review the major mount manufacturers and their product lines. Mounting of cell phones and mobile devices will also be discussed.
Learning Outcomes:
The participant will be able to describe what information to gather from a client’s wheelchair in order to be able to properly mount to it.
The participant will be able to list what information to gather from the device to be mounted.
The participant will be able to identify who the major mount manufacturers are and where to get more detailed information.
Antoinette Verdone has been practicing in assistive technology for over 18 years. She has a Masters Degree in Biomedical Engineering, and she has held the RESNA ATP Certification since 2004. Ms. Verdone has worked in state government and non-profit settings before starting her own business, ImproveAbility, in 2011. ImproveAbility is a consulting and sales firm that works in many different areas of assistive technology with people of all disabilities. Antoinette’s wide range of experience and knowledge positions her to find solutions for people with complex AT needs.
