Documentation can play a pivotal role in ensuring your equipment gets approved the first time it’s submitted. Good documentation provides the ability to paint the portrait of the medical need and meet the coverage criteria. In this webinar, you will be presented with the coverage criteria and documentation examples for the K0005. The top 5 documents needed for each submission will be included. The participant will be able to identify 2 examples of MRADL’s (Mobility Related Activities of Daily Living) that pertain to the justification for the K0005.
The participant will be able to explain the basic Medicare coverage criteria (LCD) for an ultra high strength light weight wheelchair.
The participant will be able to list 5 documents that are required to be submitted for a K0005 wheelchair.

Presenter

Kay has over 36 years seating and wheeled mobility experience. She is a graduate of the Occupational Therapy program at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She has been an Assistive Technology Professional ( ATP) since 1996. Her focus has been on pediatric seating positioning, wheeled mobility, assistive technology solutions and accreditation. Kay has spent her years as an OT in various roles, from clinician to manufacturer rep. She has presented at various national and international conferences and webinars.
