Every time we are face to face with a client, we are called to solve real life problems that impact mobility, safety, independence, comfort and/or function. By looking at each interaction as unique, we keep the human component center, eliminate tunnel vision, and work as a team for a solution. This one-hour session will be case example focused, using videos and photos to illustrate many complex and not so complex seating, positioning, and mobility problems clients experience. We will explore the clinical reasoning involved in solving these individual issues and discuss solutions both trialed and potential for each case.
Learning Outcomes:
- Identify client mobility and seating problems and prioritize their needs when recommending appropriate mobility devices and seating components.
- Recognize the need for setting expectations for and how those may change during actual client evaluation.
- Use the examples outlined in this course to propose 1-2 unique seating and mobility solutions during an equipment evaluation.
