As the proportion of older adults in Canada continues to grow, assistive technologies will continue to play an important role in the promotion of active and healthy aging, independent living and aging-in-place. Although assistive technologies are essential for supporting basic and instrumental activities of daily living, there are several challenges that limit equitable access to assistive technologies in Canada.
