  • Custom fit: Single calibration is completed within one visit

  • Easily adjusted for the weight of different objects with the press of a button

  • Provides proximal stability for distal mobility

  • Avoids complexity of myoelectric control

  • Donning/Doffing accomplished within minutes

The Abilitech Assist is a powered orthotic designed to support users’ functional activities of daily living. Powered by springs and motors, our hybrid system is custom calibrated to allow for independent movement to lift objects weighing up to 12 ounces. The body vest, with integrated lumbar sacral support, makes the device feel weightless and allows for extended use.

The Abilitech Assist device is designed to support patients in activities of daily living, engaging with loved ones and their communities, and living more independently.

Key features of the Abilitech Assist device include:

  • Range of Motion – The only device on the market with a powered shoulder assist to support a greater range of motion for the arm.

  • Lightweight – The slim and breathable body jacket supports the weight of the device, providing the user with extended-wear options and a “weightless” feeling.

  • Donning/Doffing – Clinician and user-friendly adjustments allow the device to be taken on and off within minutes.

  • Simple – Designed to be easily integrated into daily life. Adjustments to the device can be made quickly.

  • Wearable – When worn, the device allows users to perform functional tasks in a variety of environments (home, school, work, and in the community).

  • Independence – The primary goal of the device is to promote the independence of the user through an improvement in their ability to perform activities of daily living.

  • Hybrid – Motorized adjustment of springs support the user’s natural abilities. The hybrid device is designed to empower patients to build off of their current ability to improve independent function.

The Abilitech Assist device will be indicated for users with neuromuscular weakness of the upper limbs due to injury or disease. Users need minimal intrinsic muscle strength in the arm to be treated. A Manual Muscle Testing (MMT) score of 2 or higher in the shoulder is required to support many key functions.
