This course is designed to provide a fundamental understanding of Power Wheelchairs (PWC), the categories of users and equipment, their construction and drive controls, their order forms, and the role of the CRT Supplier for training, configuration, fitting, and delivery.

Purpose
The purpose of this course is to understand the fundamentals of power wheelchairs and how they can be configured to provide benefits of ease, comfort, and functionality.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe the 3 categories of power mobility users
- Describe the 3 device categories for power mobility
- List the pros and cons for each device category
- Describe the 3 types of drive wheel configuration
- List the pros and cons for each drive wheel configuration
- List 1 reason for each of the 4 Powered seating options
- Describe the difference between joystick and switch-based driver controls.
