In this course, you will be presented with not only the six most common diagnoses that are seen by CRT Suppliers, but also contextual information about their impairments, how we should work with them, and a brief overview of the landscape .

Purpose

The purpose of this course is to introduce some of the most common diagnoses encountered while supplying Complex Rehab Technology (CRT)

  • Detail about the expected impairments with each diagnosis
  • Deatil about what the impairments mean in terms of activity and participation

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Name the five (5) areas covered by the International Classification os Function (ICF)
  • Name one (1) impairment for 5 of the diagnoses presented
  • Name one (1) question to ask clients who have MS, SCI, and CVA resulting in hemiplegia
IMPORTANT

Please keep in mind as we present these diagnoses that for each one of them, there is a huge spectrum of disability and ability. For example, you will see someone with cerebral palsy who walks with a little bit of a problem and you see someone with cerebral palsy who’s totally dependent in all self-care. There’s a wide spectrum from mildly to severely involved.
