2019-2020 NRRTS Board of Directors is Announced

NRRTS announces the 2019-2020 Board of Directors. New At-Large Directors are David Nix, ATP,CRTS®, Tim Robinson, ATP/SMS, CRTS®, and Jason Kelln, ATP, CRTS®.

David Nix is from Birmingham and has been a NRRTS Registrant for 20 years. “I do speak proudly of the organization whenever I have the opportunity and I have consistently preached the value of NRRTS ethical standards during Alabama Medicaid advisory committee meetings. Still, I know there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes and I want to step up and do my part if help is needed.”

Tim Robinson, a Supplier and wheelchair user understands the issues of all CRT Stakeholders. “Our industry and our clients need help. Ever tightening regulations and shrinking reimbursements are depriving those we serve of the equipment and services they need to live full and productive lives. The situation is becoming more and more unbearable. For a long time I, like many, have said “someone needs to do something” about these problems. Over the course of the last few years I realized that, as a user and a supplier, I am “someone” and I hadn’t done anything concrete to address these problems. I am eager to serve because I am that “someone” who is willing to do something. If not me, then you.”

Jason Kelln became our first Canadian Registrant in 2018. He is a Complex Rehab Supplier, Rehab Sales Trainer, and a frequent public speaker as he focuses on issues facing the CRT Industry.

The new board members join veteran board members who work diligently to fulfill the NRRTS mission.

NRRTS is a professional association supporting individuals who provide Complex Rehab Technology wheelchairs and seated positioning systems for people of all ages and diagnoses who have postural or mobility deficits. These professionals offer quality care and service using specialized knowledge, training, experience and skills to match the consumers’ needs to appropriate equipment.

The National Registry of Rehabilitation Technology Suppliers was incorporated in 1992 by a group of rehabilitation technology suppliers (RTSs) committed to raising the standards of their profession and ensuring consumers receive quality, cost-effective, individualized and function-enhancing equipment. To this end, a Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice was established as well as mandatory annual continuing education so Registrants maintain appropriate skills and current knowledge in the field of rehabilitation technology. NRRTS currently has Registrants in all 50 states.
