Webinar Synopsis

It can be intimidating and almost always frustrating but the Prior Approval Process and the Department’s staff are friends not enemies. We are here to provide appropriate and cost effective medical equipment and supplies for these patients in accordance with Department policy and procedure.

This course will provide therapists, ATPs, physicians, and Complex Rehab Tecgnology providers with a better understanding of the Department’s review process, the staff, and especially how to obtain an approval for a manual or power chair. We will discuss in depth how to submit a prior approval request and what documentation is required. The majority of this discussion will cover what information is expected on the HFS 3701H and HFS 3701K. I will also discuss pricing methodology and a need for additional information versus a true denial.
